Your poem is really beautiful and profound. ππ
I love reading and writing about musings on the cosmos. I love the rhythm of the poem, it almost feels like you have embodied the vibrations of the universe in it.
Great! Itβll take about 24 hours. Iβll send it back as a reply on this posting. Iβll use a female voice, British accent unless you tell me different. B
Okayβ¦ Iβve sent it 3 times from e different devices and at least one confirmed it had gone through. Letβs just wait βtil the end of the day and see what develops.
And the title is a nod to Carl Sagan (famous professor of space science) who used the term βstar-stuffβ in a quote referring to both us and the cosmos. And he famously emphasised the smallness of mankind when looking into the incomprehensible vastness of space. The poem is essentially about that feeling of being nothing but a brief flash in all of time and space - the awe of looking up at the universe. βCosmic vertigoβ :)

Lovely line about the darkness.
Thank you!
I would be interested to convert this to Spoken Poetry and post back to you. May I?
Of course! That sounds wonderful :)

Send me a confirmation that it arrived okay...
I canβt see it yet!
This damn platform is like working in the Stone Ageβ¦ π€¬ I will keep sending it in different ways until you get itβ¦
Could you explain your poem to an βilliterateβ like me?

Thank you!
So if I go line by line:
The wind whistles, almost like a songbird
I feel a chill down to my bones as I inhale the cold air,
My body shivers,
The air tastes of ozone.
The moon is in the waning crescent stage above.
Looking at the vast night sky I feel like I donβt even exist.
In comparison to the stars and the deep and haunting darkness.
I hope this helps! :)
This is beautiful π
Thank you so much - and thank you for sharing it! βΊοΈ
Of course! I'm so curious and passionate about the night sky and the cosmos. Poetry pours from it β¨οΈ
Thatβs such a great way to put it. I agree - thereβs nothing more humbling!
Thank you so much π©Ά
